Anonymous asked: Hey Auntie Jilli! <3 I saw your answer to the vampire movie question just posed, and it made me terribly curious- who WOULD be your perfect Lestat?
Right now, I think the perfect casting for Lestat would be Chris Hemsworth. (In a less muscle-bound form than he has for the Thor movies.)
Remember, Lestat is supposed to be blond, tall, and was a hunter when he was human. He’s supposed to have a charming smile, but can look mean in an instant. So yeah, I would like to see a Lestat movie with Chris Hemsworth in the title role.
Yisssss! I would watch the shit out of Chris Hemsworth as Lestat.
I’ve never been female. But I have been black my whole life. I can perhaps offer some insight from that perspective. There are many similar social issues related to access to equal opportunity that we find in the black community, as well as the community of women in a white male dominate society…
When I look at — throughout my life — I’ve known that I wanted to do astrophysics since I was 9 years old…I got to see how the world around me reacted to my expressions of these ambitions. All I can say is, the fact that I wanted to be a scientist, an astrophysicist was hands down the path of most resistance through the forces of society.
Anytime I expressed this interest, teachers would say, ‘Oh, don’t you wanna be an athlete?’ I want to become someone that was outside of the paradigm of expectations of the people in power. Fortunately, my depth of interest of the universe was so deep and so fuel enriched that everyone of these curve balls that I was thrown, and fences built in front of me, and hills that I had to climb, I just reach for more fuel, and I just kept going.
Now, here I am, one of the most visible scientists in the land, and I wanna look behind me and say, ‘Where are the others who might have been this,’ and they’re not there! …I happened to survive and others did not simply because of forces of society that prevented it at every turn. At every turn.
…My life experience tells me that when you don’t find blacks, when you don’t find women in the sciences, I know that these forces are real, and I had to survive them in order to get where I am today.
So before we start talking about genetic differences, you gotta come up with a system where there’s equal opportunity, then we can have that conversation."
"What’s up with chicks and science?"
Are there genetic differences between men and women, explain why more men are in science.
"Such a strange display of male arrogance."
I hate this joke.
It’s actually a display of vulnerability.
men are gentle delicate flowers and their dicks are their stems (≧◡≦)
they are made of stardust and their dicks are made from the heart of stars millions of light years away. their unwanted, unasked for dick pics are the hearts of stars do not shame them for trying to share (╯_╰)
men display their vulnerability by displaying their dicks (aka starflowers) to unsuspecting women please do not be rude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (◡‿◡✿)
What in the hell
oh for fuck sake
"You know how hard it is for me to whip my dick out and take a picture and send it to a girl???? Who didn’t ask for it??? It takes so much trust!! I feel so vulnerable not knowing if she’s going to react to my penis the way I want her to!!11!!!" :’(
the struggle is real.
When I say people want to see more diversity in stories, no, I really don’t mean different stories about straight white dudes. I really, really don’t mean that at all. This isn’t about types of stories being told. This is specifically about people. I’m not letting you make this about something else. You are not hijacking this message to make sure we’re still talking about straight white dudes.
DreamWorks Animation Studios has announced the addition of a black female heroine (gasp!) to its repertoire of white dogs, green ogres, snails, Neanderthals, pandas, white people and Antz. In doing so, it joins an elite club consisting of … well, nobody.
Not one major Hollywood studio has released a 3D animated feature starring a black character.

THIS IS SUPER COOL THOUGH IF YOU UNDERSTAND HORSES. LIKE THAT NIPPING IS A GROOMING BEHAVIOR HORSE’S DO TO BOND AND TO MAINTAIN AND IMPROVE SOCIAL BONDS. SO THAT HORSE IS BASICALLY TREATING THE CAT AS PART OF THE HERD AND SUSTAINING THE FRIENDLY BOND.
IT IS SAYING, “this tiny horse is very tiny but we are friends. Look at my tiny friend.”
My tiny friend is looking fabulous
